Camille Spink Shatters SEC Meet Record in 50 Free, Ranks 4th All-Time
The 2026 SEC Championships are underway, and Camille Spink of Tennessee has already made her mark. In the Women's 50 Freestyle finals, Spink clocked an impressive 20.87, setting a new SEC meet record and securing her place as the 4th all-time performer in this event.
This achievement comes as a surprise to many, as Spink's best time prior to the event was 21.23, ranking her 16th all-time. However, her prelims performance of 21.01 propelled her to 6th place, surpassing Torri Huske and Abbey Weitzeil in the all-time rankings. Spink's time of 20.87 not only broke the SEC meet record but also moved her ahead of Huske and Weitzeil in the all-time performers list.
The Women's 50 Freestyle All-Time Performers now look like this:
1. Gretchen Walsh - 20.37
2. Maggie MacNeil - 20.79
3. Kate Douglass - 20.84
4. Camille Spink - 20.87
5. Abbey Weitzeil - 20.90
6. Torri Huske - 20.92
7. Erika Brown - 21.03
Spink's outstanding performance has propelled Tennessee back into 2nd place in the team standings, just behind Texas and ahead of Florida. This is a significant improvement from their position before the 50 free event.
