Chery's iCar is set to launch its largest SUV to date, the V27, on March 13th. This marks a significant milestone for the brand as it introduces its first extended-range hybrid (EREV) model. The V27 is designed with a rugged, family-oriented aesthetic, measuring 4,909 mm in length, 1,976 mm in width, and 1,855/1,894 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,910 mm. It's a substantial step up from previous models like the V23 and V23S.
The top-trim V27 is equipped with Horizon Robotics' Horizon SuperDrive (HSD) smart driving system and the Qualcomm Journey 6P chip, offering advanced computing power of 560 TOPS. This system integrates 27 sensors, including LiDAR, and supports map-free urban navigation on autopilot (NOA).
Powering the V27 is an extended-range hybrid system, combining a 1.5T engine with electric motors. The four-wheel-drive version is expected to deliver a maximum power output of 335 kW. The vehicle boasts a pure electric range of 200 kilometers and an impressive comprehensive range of up to 1,200 kilometers.
Chery's iCar brand, launched in April 2023, targets fashion-conscious young consumers. The brand's first model, the iCar 03, was discontinued in November 2025, while the V23, a pure electric model, was introduced in December 2024. The V27 marks iCar's entry into the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) market, combining the performance of electric vehicles with the range convenience of traditional gasoline cars.
Stay tuned for the upcoming launch of the Luxeed V9, the first MPV model under the Huawei HIMA umbrella, expected in the first half of 2026.
