The plan includes a gas station on the 15-acre site, which is strategically located just south of I-64. Costco already has a strong presence in Hampton Roads with two existing locations, and a third is currently under construction in Newport News. This expansion plan indicates a growing commitment to the region.
Mayor Rick West believes the old Sears building will make way for the new Costco, but the application is yet to be reviewed by the City Council.
